The Credit by Exam Program (CBE ) involves high schools in the San Diego Region and the Career Technical Transitions Office of the San Diego Community College District. With the CBE program, students can receive college credit for Biology 131: Introduction to Biotechnology which is fully transferable to CSU and UC system.

What are the benefits of completing approved Credit By Exam Courses?

  • Students who take an approved class may receive up to four units of college credit for their high school class in Biotech or Medical Interventions course with Project Lead The Way.
  • The awarded credit may be applied towards Biotech Associate Degrees and/or Certificates at Miramar College.
  • Save on college fees when earning college credit through CTE Transitions.

In this unique program, only Amgen Biotech Experience trained teachers, through the Life Sciences Summer Institute (LSSI) Program may participate.
